You will arrive at: José María Córdova International Airport, located in Rionegro, Antioquia, Colombia. Chris will be waiting for you at the airport upon arrival. We will check in at: Masaya Hostel, located at Calle 8 Numero 43A-89, Poblado, Medellín. Masaya is one block from Parque el Poblado. We will head to Mercado del Rio, a popular local venue, where we will have dinner. Dinner and soft drinks are included. Alcoholic beverages are not.

Our tour opens in Medellin’s infamous Comuna 13. Yulieth, our private guide, will go through the history and miraculous transformation of this neighborhood. After the tour and lunch at the Comuna, our driver will take us to Plaza Botero, an outside “park” like you’ve never seen. All meals will be included on day two, finishing with dinner at a very peculiar spot two blocks from our accommodation.

Located in the heart of Medellin city, we will visit the Botanical Garden. With over 1,000 different living plant species, the gardens are not only a place to relax but also to learn about Colombia’s biodiversity. We will explore the different areas of the garden, including a lagoon and the butterfly dome. From there, we will make our way to the Metro Cable where you will have a chance to see the city of Medellin from a unique perspective. We will finish the day with dinner at a local grill.

Today, enjoy the stunning and unspoiled landscapes of the Andes mountains as we cruise to the enchanting town of Jardin, Antioquia. Upon arrival we will visit a private garden where you are guaranteed to see the Andean cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola peruvianus), a bird native to South America. We will end the day with dinner at one of Jardin’s top steakhouses. Vegetarian? Don’t worry they have options!

Grab your windbreaker – it’s time for an adventure on horseback! We will explore different sectors surrounding the town of Jardin; waterfalls, rushing rivers and imposing mountain peaks paint a breathtaking canvas. Have your camera handy as you will have the opportunity to photograph the landscapes while you savor a fresh cup of coffee at Jardin Cafe. For lunch, we will head to a trout farm where you can fish for your meal! Again, plenty of options on the menu for everyone. After lunch, enjoy free time to explore the town, buy souvenirs or relax in the hot tub until we meet for dinner.

We will begin our day with a visit to a family-run bee and coffee farm set in the surrounding mountains. During our tour we will learn about each product the farm produces and their struggle to continue with their mission to save the bees and educate others about this mysterious, yet, vital species. We will savor a home cooked meal at the farm as this five-hour tour is sure to work up your appetite.

Today it’s YOUR choice! We will leave the wonders of Jardin by 3pm which will give you a free morning to choose; take a hike, go on a horseback ride or unwind until 1pm before check out. We will meet for lunch at 2pm and head back to Medellin. Prepare for a full day of exploring the Penol rock and the Pueblo de los Zócalos.
8. Thursday, March 31
🍽 BREAKFAST,LUNCH, DINNER 🏨 Masaya Hostel 🌤 78-82°
Our driver will pick us up by 7am. We will enjoy a scenic drive to the Piedra del Peñol accompanied by a private tour guide. We’ll have 2.5 hours to climb the 742 steps to the top of the historic rock and return to the base. After climbing the rock we will enjoy a traditional lunch along the boardwalk in Guatapé town, Pueblo de los Zócalos followed by a cruise on the Guatapé Reservoir. Upon our return we will walk the streets of the “most colorful town” in Colombia then head back to Medellin for our farewell dinner.
